                Norfolk Broads

                Picture
The Norfolk Broads, a peaceful haven of man-made lakes connected by rivers lined with reed beds where the only sounds to be heard are those of the breeze rustling the reeds, the call of the many varieties of water fowl and the waves lapping against the river bank.
Scattered throughout the area are many drainage windmills, many of which are now dis-used and lay in ruin but can, in the right conditions, offer a good 'photo op.'
Boats, of course, feature heavily in the 'Broads.'  From the pleasure cruisers belonging to the holiday industry to the old style, sail driven 'wherry' which used to ferry goods from the port of Great Yarmouth up the river to Norwich, and every craft in between.  Here, the boat is king.  Long may it reign.
